Three Councillors have indicated that they are not seeking re-election; Councillors Steve Desroches, Doug Thompson and Rainer Bloess.
A total of 1 candidate has registered to run for Mayor (Mike Maguire who ran last time and finished 5th with 2.5% of the vote) and 28 candidates have registered to run for Council.
Infrastructure investment does not yet appear to be an election issue. Taxes and contract management, particularly bridge construction is on the radar, along with waste management.
A total of 7 incumbents have registered to run in 2014 (Allan Hubley, Scott Moffatt, Stephen Blais, Diane Holmes, Mathieu Fleury, Tim Tierney, Mark Taylor).
2. Education Series
The NCHCA 2014 NCHCA Education Series, in Partnership with the City of Ottawa are being held once at Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe Drive. Each session starts off with a networking /coffee at 8:00 AM, followed by the actual sessions at 9:00. All sessions are FREE.

3. Membership Renewals and Account Profiles
Memership dues have remained unchanged for 2014 and are now available for processing online. Please ensure that your Account Profile information for the printing of the 2014 NCHCA Directory. The datafile will be extracted mid February, as such, no changes will be allowed after Feb 15th.

9. Rita Hendriks
We are deeply saddened at the loss of a dear friend to the Tomlinson family, Rita Hendriks. Rita’s family has requested donations to “Ride the Rideau” in Rita’s honour.
