6. Meeting with Jack McLaren re Bill 80, August 14
The Fairness is a Two Way Street Act will stop Quebec construction contractors from obtaining Ontario provincial and municipal government construction contracts. This action is in response to the Quebec government stopping Ontario contractors from obtaining government contracts in Quebec. The objective is to bring the Quebec government to the negotiating table to talk about how to remove barriers to labour mobility between Quebec and Ontario. The support of the Ottawa City Council for the intent of “The Fairness is a Two Way Street Act” would be a very significant endorsement that would encourage MPPs at Queen’s Park to vote in favour of the Bill at 2ndreading on September 12, 2013.
