In 2020, NCHCA undertook a multi-year recruitment project with funding from the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development to address industry labour shortages in the Ottawa area. The project focuses on improving perception of our industry and developing practical strategies and solutions with input from our members and other stakeholders. The outcome we hope to achieve is that the public perceives a career in the heavy construction industry to be an attractive and sustainable career choice so that we are successful in recruiting and retaining a sustainable workforce.
