Committee members volunteer their time to advance issues relevant to the heavy construction industry. Committees are approved by and report to the NCHCA Board.

Bursary Committee
Mandate: To encourage recruitment to the heavy construction industry by providing education bursaries to NCHCA member employees and their families. For more information, please visit the Bursary page of our website.
Community Engagement Committee
Mandate: To develop a plan for activities that support the community such as the Construction Community Cares Equipment Parade and the Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee
Mandate: To promote equity, diversity and inclusion in the heavy construction industry.
Education Committee
Mandate: To organize the annual Education Series in collaboration with the City of Ottawa and the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies.
Excess Soil Management Committee

Health & Safety Committee
Mandate: To serve as a resource to members with regards to health and safety issues, to promote safe working environments and industry safety-related initiatives and distribute relevant information.
Locate System Improvements Committee
Mandate: To contribute to the improvement of the Ontario locate system by providing industry’s feedback, perspective, and position.
Recruitment Committee
Mandate: To serve as a resource to our members and promote recruitment to our industry.
Social Procurement Committee
Mandate: To contribute to the development of the City of Ottawa’s social procurement initiative by providing industry’s feedback, perspective, and position.
Specifications Committees: Asphalt, Concrete, General, and Sewer & Watermain
Mandate: To contribute to the improvement of City of Ottawa specifications by providing industry’s feedback, perspective, and position.
Theft Prevention Committee
Mandate: To serve as a resource to our members regarding theft prevention and liaise with law enforcement.
