Objectives and Mission
The National Capital Heavy Construction Association is the voice of the road builders, aggregate producers and the sewer and water main construction industries in Canada’s national capital region. The heavy construction industry is an important economic driver in the Ottawa area in terms of employees, payroll, assessment, investment and taxes. The National Capital Heavy Construction Association is comprised of 200 companies employing over 9,000 employees ($350 million payroll) and an annual capital investment of $165 million. We truly are an economic player in the Ottawa region.
To promote the role of our industry (road building, aggregate, bridge, sewer and water main construction firms as well as supporting businesses) in the construction and maintenance of sustainable infrastructure.
- To continuously advocate strong, clear positions and expectations to municipal, provincial and federal governments on our industry issues.
- To serve as a resource to promote recruitment to our industry, organize technical and safety training and encourage educational development.
- To facilitate the two-way flow of information between our industry and our stakeholders in order to ensure better understanding and cooperation between the public, owners, designers and contractors.
- To organize social and learning activities to promote leadership, professionalism, goodwill and cooperation within our membership and between our industry and our stakeholders.
